Welcome to KGF Counselling Services, my name is Sharn, professional qualified Counsellor. As a therapist I specialise in anxiety, stress, trauma, and the impact of traditions and cultural influences. In addition I'm aware of issues of prescribed drug dependence and withdrawal.
Reaching for support is the decision to act, our fears can prevent us, they can hold us back. You can do anything you decide to do, to act, to change and control your life, the procedure, the process, is its own reward. I understand that taking the first step for support and counselling can be hard however, it will be most beneficial in your quest to reach your goals and wellbeing.
I adhere to the frameworks of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). This ensures the client is safeguarded and that my practice is deemed ethical, impartial and confidential. I believe in working in a holistic manner and respect differences and diversity without imposing influence of faith in my work, respectfully appreciating all faiths and cultural backgrounds. Scripture can be incorporated in the therapeutic process or references to the clients own faith if they so wish to explore spirituality in their therapeutic journey .
"Gratitude can be spread as far and wide to darkness itself..." Sharn at KGF Counselling
"...eventually we understand that growth does not necessarily take place in sunlight - this in itself is an awakening" Sharn at KGF Counselling
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Like yourself, trying to balance various commitments has felt at times like the impossible, I have experienced how it can feel living in angst. Now, I aim to incorporate both personal and my professional knowledge to help you find that balance and wellbeing. My aim is to help you with your process to become less overwhelmed and as long as action is taken you can free yourself from never-ending cycle of misery, stress or depression and suchlike. The path to freedom is facing the truth and walking through your issues by untangling the layers to reach the root cause of the disturbance. Here, I will work with you by applying proven psychological therapies to help your wellbeing.
Counselling is a process where you are able to share your issues in a non-judgemental environment. With natural empathy I work impartially in a professional respectful manner. I will facilitate the process and gently help guide you in your path of exploration by working with you to unlock the issues that may be causing upset or distress. Eventually, you may find the ‘self’ that will guide you autonomously on your own path without psychological disturbance.
Initially however, you may be feeling anxious, depressed and not knowing why?!
